Critical Incident Response

Whenever trauma to BellSouth employees occurs, BellSouth’s Critical Incident Response (CIR) Plan may be activated. Examples of "trauma" that would be appropriate for a trauma response include:

  • Accidents on the job
  • Natural disasters
  • Acts of violence
  • Death and injury
  • Holdups and robberies
  • Significant loss of property (e.g., house fire)

A traumatic event may occur on or off the job and may affect one or several employees. The CIR plan includes an immediate response of multiple vendor and internal services that support employees, their families and work teams in traumatic situations. The purpose is to reduce the impact of a trauma on employees and the workplace and facilitate the most appropriate assistance for the affected employees and their management.

In any case of trauma that has or potentially could have a negative physical or emotional impact, the  Employee Assistance Program Administrator (click here) should be notified immediately, either directly or through your Human Resources department.
